Hamdan bin Mohammed Program for Smart Government Awards (HbMPSG), Dubai

Overview:

Not a conventional award gala but a forum for the modernisation of government work in Dubai: the award was initiated by the crown prince of the Emirates and honours employees and government offices taking part in the “Dubai Model Improvement Cycle”. A platform was created that enables over 600 forum participants to communicate with one another and exchange ideas. Government bodies nominated for the short-list had the opportunity to present their initiatives in person to the Sheikh and an international jury.

Commissioned by HQ Worldwide, we implemented the entire technical set-up for audio, video and lighting as well as the required rigging, which we planned in great detail ahead of the event together with the agency. For this job, we used 2D & 3D CAD drawings, 2D and 3D renderings as well as a wysiwyg tool for visualisation. This allowed us to give our client and the end-customer a detailed impression of the production before the event. In addition to the auditorium, we were also charged with realising a “Briefing Room” for the jury as well as eleven presentation stands. These were equipped with interactive touchscreens, which not only worked locally but were also connected to the central control room via glass-fibre cables. The PA system was realised with a similar set-up: besides providing local acoustics for the presentation stand, the signals were also transmitted to the control room so that attendees could enjoy an ideal acoustic experience provided by 360° sound to accompany the video signal projected onto video mapping projection surfaces situated on each side of the venue.
