Pavilion
The Philippines Pavilion at EXPO 2025 Osaka was presented under the theme “Nature, Culture & Community – Woven Together for a Better Future.”
At its core was the idea of weaving as both a cultural practice and a symbol of unity. The pavilion’s façade featured over 200 handwoven textiles created by artisans from across the Philippines, forming a distinctive architectural identity.
Inside, visitors moved through a series of immersive environments combining woven structures, interactive installations, and digital experiences, including a dynamic “fiesta” concept. The pavilion brought together traditional craftsmanship and contemporary technology to express the country’s creativity, diversity, and collective spirit.

BeWunder delivered the Philippines Pavilion as a turnkey experience partner, taking responsibility for the visitor experience from early development through to final realisation.
The project began with feasibility studies and value engineering, ensuring that the creative concept could be realised efficiently while maintaining its cultural and material integrity. This continued into the final design development, where multimedia and lighting systems were integrated into the exhibition and aligned with the spatial and narrative intent.
The scope included the delivery and integration of audio systems, video systems, lighting systems, media servers and playback, show control systems, and event IT networks, creating a coordinated technical environment across the pavilion. Interactive elements were integrated to support the immersive visitor experience.
BeWunder also delivered the full exhibition fit-out, including scenic and set build, exhibit fabrication, and installation of graphics, print, and signage, ensuring precise alignment between physical elements and integrated technologies.
A key aspect of the project was the installation of the pavilion’s façade, incorporating handwoven materials sourced from the Philippines. This required careful coordination of logistics, handling, and integration to preserve the authenticity and quality of the materials.
In addition, BeWunder managed and installed artworks and cultural artefacts provided from the Philippines, ensuring they were handled, transported, and integrated with the required level of care and sensitivity.
