The Women’s Pavilion at EXPO 2020 Dubai, developed in collaboration with Cartier, explored themes of gender equality and women’s contribution to society. The exhibition aimed to highlight both widely recognised and lesser-known figures who have shaped history and continue to influence the present.
Structured as a journey through a series of immersive spaces, the pavilion introduced visitors to different narratives through projection, interactive elements and spatial storytelling. From the introductory environment inspired by constellations to thematic zones focused on history, education and sustainability, the experience combined content, design and technology to communicate a clear and impactful message.
The pavilion created an environment that encouraged reflection, participation and engagement, concluding in an interactive space where visitors could contribute their own messages.

BeWunder delivered the audio, video and lighting systems across the pavilion, supporting the technical realisation of multiple immersive and interactive environments.
The installation included projection-based elements such as a curved projection surface used to create visual effects, alongside synchronised lighting systems that required coordination across multiple control protocols. The technical setup supported a range of exhibition zones, each with specific requirements for visual presentation, interaction and atmosphere.
Due to the complexity of the design, the project required precise coordination between multiple stakeholders, including designers, consultants and technical teams, to ensure consistent performance across all systems.
The delivery was carried out within a demanding timeframe, requiring efficient planning and execution to meet the high expectations of the project while maintaining alignment with the overall concept and design intent.
